The Return of The Internet

The internet is finally back on at my house so now the joy of being able to contact people is mine again. In a post hurricane (tropical storm) update much knitting and reading was had also some movie watching took place. The knitting was the gloves and I started a pair of gauntlets inspired by the Ithilien Rangers and if you don't know who they are shame. Seriously if you haven't read/watched the Lord of the Rings and have basic knowledge it is kind of like not having seen Star Wars.

On a fairly random/stupid note I went to the beach to watch the surf during Irene and took some pictures, the waves were only a couple of feet high when I went down but there were people swimming in the surf, must have been cold. The worst part was how strong the wind was as at the beach there are no wind breaks to blunt the wind.

Hurricane and Kntting

As the rain from tropical storm Irene continues and the puddles grow, the knittng on my first pair of gloves progresses. The gloves are made out of sock yarn and are only supposed to take 1 skien of yarn. :) In other news while we still have power the internet has been nonfunctional since last night, so this post is written from my phone. The plans for the day include knitting, reading books, listening to music and books, cooking and watching movies.
Sorry that the update is so short but typing on my phone is kind of hard.

Pictures and Drivers License

Today I passed my drivers test (finally), I managed to parellel park perfectly on the main street of the town I was testing in. Then I got to drive around alone for a bit which was different.

On the knitting side of things; here finally are some pictures of the kimono sweater I am knitting:

That is basically all that has been happening on the knitting front.

Day off Work

So in a day without work I have worked on my knitting, made pickled ginger, and made a pizza dough.
The sweater is coming along pretty well, just wish the internet is faster, I am on the second front piece. The pickled ginger is an experiment and I hope it works properly because I ran out of rice vinegar and had to substitute.
